The Therasage mat is not classified as a grounding mat but as equipment/appliance, and the NCB plug is for grounding products for the body, not for equipment. There are exceptions, but advanced knowledge and specific instances are required.

Any equipment/appliance requiring electrical power should be grounded (equipment grounding conductor) to bleed off the electric field produced by the equipment/appliance. We don’t want to block that pathway with the NCB.

The person is protected using the NCB if they are sitting or touching a separate grounding mat, shield, or other canopy that requires grounding.
